FLEABAGGS stands for Facilitating Learning, Enrichment, Adoption, Behavioral Rehabilitation, And Generally Giving a Shit. We are a 501c3 non-profit organization committed to providing resources and support to dogs with above average behavioral issues. We believe that through education of the community, and enrichment of the dogs we can overcome common barriers to behavioral dogs being responsibly placed into forever homes. Our mission is to educate humans and support the dogs that need a little extra help to have the lives they deserve.
There are many ways you can get involved to further our cause. Networking the dogs on social media, volunteering your time to assist in their training, fostering at risk dogs in your home, and donations of gently used equipment, food, as well as your financial support.
With a monthly donation to FLEABAGGS you are playing an active role in supporting and saving good dogs from bad situations.

Shai is a 3 year old Pitbull Poodle mix who has become one of our favorite errand buddies. He trots along on leash at a nice steady pace past all kinds of distractions with little to no interest. He’s also great in the car so if you need a little adventure buddy, this might be the low rider baby you’ve been looking for. Shai is crate trained, and does well in terms of house breaking when kept on a schedule. He has done well with dogs smaller and larger than him, but he can be pushy. If you have dogs that don’t appreciate another pup putting their paw down when they’ve had enough this might not be the best fit. We love this little dude and can’t get over how much personality he’s got.
Bunny is a 3 year old Pitbull Poodle mix who is crate trained, walks well on leash, loves other dogs, and is looking for a couch to call her own. She loves TV and actually watches it with you which is really cute. Gets a little opinionated when the show has other dogs on it though. There is so much personality in this little package and we love the way she can toggle between a total couch potato to a rowdy wrestler with her dog friends.
Camo is an athletic Pitbull mix with a lot of pep in his step. We pulled him from the shelter after he struggled in his previous foster home. Camo has struggled with significant reactivity towards other dogs and is currently in training to prepare him for an experienced home. You can keep up with our journey with Camo on the Rise Above Facebook page! He is currently not available for adoption, but we are hoping to change his status to available soon.
Ulysses is a long time resident of the rescue. Longer than the rescue has even been an official rescue! Ulysses is a strong willed dog who came to us with resource guarding and severe reactivity issues. We have come a long way with him, but because of the intensity in his personality and the level of management his behavior requires he is on “Sanctuary Status” with us. If a rare gem of a home ever presented themselves as a perfect fit we wouldn’t get in the way of that opportunity for Ulysses, but either way we are happy to have him here in our care.
Jupiter is a 7 year old pitbull mix who we love and adore. Jup originally came across our radar when we worked with her foster at the shelter on her leash reactivity. Jupiter ended up scheduled to be euthanized after a chicken incident that resulted in a redirected bite to a human trying to save the chicken. Jupiter has come a long way with her reactivity and leash walking, but would do best with a strong and present handler. She is dog selective and would need to go to a home with either no dogs or to a dog that she does well with through supervised introductions through the rescue.
Beckham is a 6 year old Pitbull Cattle dog cross. He came to us after the tragic loss of his previous owner. Beckham is a spunky stocky boy who loves to play fetch and run on the treadmill. He is an avid lizard and bird “hunter” and he cannot resist a game of flirt pole. Beckham has been through a lot and can take time to warm up to new people. We have been exploring more opportunities to have Beckham socialize with new people and so far so good, but until we have a more clear picture of his behavior he is currently unavailable for adoption. Eventually our hope is to find him someone committed to going slow with him, and ultimately training with us to give them all of the methods and tools to set them up for success.
